Academic and scientific writing

I have proofread and translated an extensive number of doctoral and master's theses from a diverse range of fields, as well as other scientific papers and publications. Thanks to my training as an interpreter, I enjoy getting to grips with new topics quickly. So far these have included international law, genetics, and environmental management, to name but a few.

Law

Legal translation requires a great deal of research, because translators need to bridge the gap not only between two different languages, but between two separate legal systems. What's more, there is absolutely no room for error. Thanks to my six years' experience working as a legal translator, I am aware of all the issues which need to be researched, and deliver work of the utmost precision.

Politics, international relations and media

Thanks to my study of international relations during my translation degrees, I have an excellent knowledge of the history and political systems of the countries where my working languages are spoken. Furthermore, I completed my BA dissertation on the translation of conflict, as well as an internship in Communications at the United Nations in Bonn, Germany. I have worked as a media analyst, and in my current job working for a German government ministry, I translate speeches to be delivered at the highest levels.

Marketing

The Arts

Whether it's music, dance, painting, theatre or literature, I am passionate about all things artistic. Having attended an arts-focused grammar school in Germany where I passed the equivalent of music A level, I have a solid grounding in music theory and know how to write for audiences who know their classical music. I also have in-depth knowledge of the terminology of ballet and contemporary dance.

Medical & Nutrition

I have translated and proofread numerous texts related to genetics, medical research and both human and animal nutrition. Furthermore, I translate recipes, and articles about food, so I can make sure your menu sounds just as appetizing in English as it does in the original language!
