ARABIC اللغة العربية

Spoken by more than 313 million people in 25 countries in the Middle East and North Africa, Arabic is also one of the official languages of the United Nations.

I speak both Modern Standard Arabic, the language of media and literature which is understood throughout the Arab world, and Levantine Arabic, the informal language spoken in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.

I offer written translation services from Arabic into English. I hold an MSc in Arabic-English Translating and Conference Interpreting from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. I have also studied Arabic in Damascus, Syria (before the war), as well as in Austria and Belgium.

I can also check that your Arabic text documents are formatted correctly. Arabic is written from right to left, and I can ensure your Arabic text is not displayed in the wrong direction (something which happens more often than you might expect!). Or if you would like to learn how to read, write and speak basic Arabic yourself, you've come to the right place!
